January 30, 2023“During my 12-months volunteering in a rural area of Schwarzwald (Black Forest) in Germany, I had the chance to undergo joy, funny moments, loneliness sometimes, Covid and so on.
The cultural choc wasn’t that unexpected. But, the biggest problem seemed to be still the language, and especially the area dialect, yet I found it interesting.
My working days weren’t so difficult to manage. However, after a certain time, it turns into a kind of routine, which I tried to avoid by travelling a little bit around Black Forest or the neighbour regions, even the crossing the country.
Corcerning the working environment, I would say it was on top of the rest. Respectful colleagues, kind, friendly and lovely people full of joy.
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t say the same thing about the weather. Despite the 10 months of winter, the summer in Germany was surprisingly amazing. Yet the magic of snow during Christmas time was the perfect way for me to come to the end of this project.”
