The project Gender Realities in Albania was a work camp that aimed to increase awareness and some practices of gender realities in Albania, especially among marginalised groups. It was organized in Tirana, Albania (specific focus rural areas) from 25 of May to 2d of June 2019
The work-camp was based in 4 main directions
- Roma kids and youth
- Roma mothers
- Pupils of high school in a rural area, Ndroqi, Tirana
- Pupils of elementary schools in a rural part of Tirana, Lalm
A group of 10 young people from Albania, France, Ireland, Poland, USA participated in the work camp which had a combination of very interactive and intensive activities.
Participants gained skills in practicing non-formal learning with young people with fewer opportunities, got knowledge about gender perception in Albania, and sow in what conditions young people with social, economical and ethical obstacles live with. Also, they practiced organizational skills by organizing workshop activities by and for themselves.
Eighty one young people and mothers took part in the workshops and football with both genders. They learned about gender realities, increased their information, and awareness about gender violence, the role of youth to improve such a situation.
