Capacity Building Training: Empowering Teachers and Youth Workers for Regional Collaboration

The capacity building training for teachers and youth workers from Balkans came to the end of its week, and just started another step toward transferring skills and practicing intercultural learning and dialogue with young people at local level.

During this week we had together teachers from different schools and youth workers from 4 different organizations from Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, and North Macedonia. This started as a test” how would it work to bring together youth workers and teachers, how it comes out to present and use non-formal learning methods to the teachers who never heard and used such methods before, to the teachers who in their entire life are used with formal learning. It looked like a challenge for the team, but it turned into a unique experience to have such combination, both teachers and youth workers shared and learned so much from each other. It was a very open-minded group, who discussed sensitive issues of regional collaboration, discussed topics of prejudice we have among us, and for different target groups, practiced intercultural learning competencies, developed themselves tools which will be tested with young people.

We are very optimistic about future generations because we saw teachers who will bring changes, are positive and role models for young people, are committed, professional and they believe in regional collaboration, in peace and reconciliation in the WB.
