👉 It was the volunteering as a tool for peace and democracy, and volunteering as a value in social cohesion which brought us together and celebrate, share and build partnerships, address the challenges all together.
The long journey on promotion the culture of peace through volunteering started in 2004 for PVN, with huge support of our umbrella organisation Service Civil International, every day and year we have been building bit by bit the activities, partnerships, projects and programs, till we jointed forces and had the trust of our partners National Youth Congress and 8 municipalities of Tirana, Shkodra, Elbasan, Korca, Berat, Lushnja, Pogradec and Tropoja to launch a pilot stage of “Consortium Civil Society – Local Government for Sustainable Volunteering in Albania” in September 2021. It was a year full of challenges, discussions, reflections, insights etc., which made us believe we can achieve so much together and this consortium to be expanded to other local stakeholders, and more municipalities.
This 21 September had so much to celebrate:
✅ The Consortium celebrated its first anniversary;
✅ We gathered all together with national and international stakeholders, organizations, media, partners, friends to reflect on peace, democracy, and volunteering;
✅ The consortium is expanded into 20 municipalities and the new ones joining this year are: Vau i Dejes, Lezha, Mirdita, Patos, Has, Roskovec, Bulqiza, Belsh, Prrenjas, Vlora and Durresi, 5 universities, 15 civil sciatica organisations, and around 32 local stakeholders;
✅ We have for the first time 8 local action plans on volunteering;
Such trust is given not only on this day, but it give us so much responsibility to implement qualitative, visionary and concrete programs.
📈 We are committed to keeping going in improving democracy and promoting volunteering, in close cooperation with our partners.
There are many more to come, stay tuned. 🟢
